"Every woman doesn't matter who has to be powerful and tough. We raise kids, have to work. We don't only take care of ourselves but also kids and husbands and boyfriends and that makes us very powerful."
As a 22-year-old student exploring the world, I’ve come across some difficult times trying to discover myself. Then, I’ve learned that I’m not alone.
“To do something meaningful. It’s a hard question. To inspire other people.”
“To be independent and brave. If you have a good education so you can be independent and travel around the world.”
Although lives of women are a lot easier today, as opposed to a couple of years ago, we need to remain strong with each moment that comes our way. However, being tough is different for everyone.
“We’re all mothers. Strong women; may we know them, may we be them and may we raise them.”
Throughout my journey, I’ve come across incredible women and asked them what it means to be tough. I continue this project with the intentions of challenging women to speak out, and reminding them of their own strength.
“To be independent and do what you wanna do when you can.”
“Every woman doesn’t matter who has to be powerful and tough. We raise kids, have to work. We don’t only take care of ourselves but also kids and husbands and boyfriends and that makes us very powerful.”
“To be there for my daughter whenever she needs me, whether good or bad. But to always be there for her.”
“Being tough means beating the boys in a race.”
“Being tough means being able to think for yourself and make your own decisions and speaking up when others don’t have the opportunity to do so.”
“Strong means you’re there for your friends to pick them up when they are down.”
