Pangea, a feminist and queer nonprofit in Prague, hosted the third Queer Bazaar at Dorado Coffee with a turnout of over 80 people, enjoying the atmosphere of live music and dozens of vendors selling handmade jewelry, candles, pins, clothing, and art.
Mathilde Sandahl founded Pangea as an AAU club in March 2022 to provide a safe space for queer and feminist educational discourse. Pangea has since grown into an official NGO, hosting various events around Prague like book clubs, dance parties, and movie nights along with the upcoming Queer Benefit Bash.
“I had such a great time,” said Deanna Kosinski, an AAU student and vendor of handcrafted crochet pieces at the bazaar. “Everyone was so nice and it was such a relaxing and peaceful atmosphere. The organizers were really helpful and accommodating. I would definitely participate as a vendor again.”
Pangea’s previous Queer Bazaar was just as successful with great music, vibes, and people coming together to celebrate Pride in Prague. The organizers had a lot to live up to, but it was clear that all parties involved had a great time.
Laughter and banter were heard throughout the entire event between vendors and shoppers. Visitors left with small knick knacks, metal wrapped pendants, incense, a song stuck in their head, or at the very least a smile on their face.
“I loved seeing the variety of sellers and products at the market. Everyone was so welcoming when I approached their table, and I can’t imagine the time they all took to make such beautiful pieces. It was overall good vibes all around and I love everything I bought,” said AAU student Kayla Arroyo.
The Queer Bazaar signifies another successful event by Pangea which is further pursuing their mission to change the outlook on queer culture and feminism in Prague. This is not Pangea’s last event, and their instagram is the best place to find out the date and time of future occasions.
