AAU hosted the Spring 2025 club fair on February 25 in the main atrium where over 20 clubs returned to scout for new recruits.

Several athletic clubs like Basketball club and Women’s Futsal club will not be returning due to a lack of leadership. Dancing club, Football club, Golf club, and Men’s Futsal club will be returning as well as AAU favorites like Yoga club and Climbing club.

“I’m at the club fair to expand my horizons a bit and to meet new people,” said AAU second year student, Jodie Trollip. “Last year I was part of climbing club and it was fire, everyone was really nice and welcoming.”

At the fair, students reported their interest in attending clubs mainly stems from a desire to try something new. In total, the clubs offered this semester include:

The Cafe Social club, Film Watchers club, Hiking club, Photography club, Students Against Violence club, The Thucydides Society, Writing club, Fashion club, Asian Student Association, Model UN, Dungeons and Dragons club, Book club, Travel club, Debate club, Queer club, the Lennon Wall, The American Civil Liberties Union for Students Abroad, The Club of European Integration & Affairs, Run club, Dancing club, Football club, Golf club, Men’s Futsal club, Climbing club, and Yoga club.

Some new clubs have emerged this Spring; including Book club, The American Civil Liberties Union for Students Abroad, The Club of European Integration & Affairs, and Queer club.

“When I got here [to AAU], I didn’t see any queer clubs and I thought it is really important to build a community for people that are queer, or questioning, or want to learn more,” said Valentina Garcia, President and Founder of Queer club.

Clubs provide a unique way for students to meet others that they wouldn’t necessarily encounter in class.

“We are a welcoming space for anyone who wants to test their comfort limits and maybe scale a rock or two,” said Climbing club President, Clara Berens.

Club leaders have stated that students will be welcomed into any club with open arms, so get out there and join a club.
