The goal of “Homeless People” project was to depict the tragedy of many homeless individuals’ lives from different parts of Prague. Because of the problems they faced in adulthood, majority of them are suffering from addictions of various types.
Tomaš, a 25-year-old man, who was begging on Charles Bridge, lost his parents at a very young age, and started to live a “life of pleasures” with a group of pathless friends.
“There were no good relatives and government to take care of me; no one was there to show me the right path. I became addicted to drugs,” he said. “I’m still struggling and no one cares.”
Working on this project I realized that even developed and democratic societies don’t pay enough attention to citizens and human rights, especially overlooking the homeless problem.
