AAU Student Council plans to introduce a new feature to accompany the course crisis form, allowing students to evaluate their classes anonymously and offer advice to newcomers on a school-wide platform.
The course crisis form was originally established during COVID-19 by the Student Virtual Task Force, which has since disbanded. The form remains in place due to its proven usefulness for in-person learning, especially during student-teacher disagreements.
“They’re usually issues with clashes of teaching style or an inappropriate way in which a situation was handled,” said Finn Chapman, who is managing the course crisis form for the Student Council.
The revised form will branch out from crisis situations and focus on course feedback, with the goal of increasing student involvement.
It will also facilitate anonymous student responses, regulated by the Student Council, to avoid inappropriate or inaccurate commentary. The advice will be accessible on an online platform, intended to ease students’ transition and advancement.
“It’s a new thing we’re trying out,” said Finn. “Hoping to get as much student feedback as possible. The more interaction with that, the better.”
Students should expect to learn more about this new feature in the coming weeks, including where and how to access it.
