April, the diamond month of the year, has just started with various events happening throughout Prague. Although it is mostly known for April fools, there is much more going on during this warm and blossoming period. Here are five of the most exciting events.

1.  Sniper’s Lake/ Divadlo Ponec

On April 17 – Husitska 24a, Prague 3.

With the migration on the rise, the Sniper’s Lake is an important play directed by Miřenka Čechová that reflects the not so obvious issues of migrants and illustrates the reality of constant fear by having the sniper among the audience. Make sure to secure the tickets as the physical theater and dance is having an international tour.

2.  Prague Fashion Market

From April 22 to April 24, Kolbenova 923/34a, Areál Praga (Pragovka).

3.  Prague Candy Festival

On April 17, from 12p.m. to 7p.m. – Orea Hotel Pyramida, Bělohorská 24, Prague 6.

The Prague Candy Festival is a heaven for all candy lovers. The degustation and sales of various kinds of sweets – including pastry – will also be accompanied by many interesting competitions, workshops and many more. Make sure to secure the tickets or get a VIP pass for a greater experience.

4. King’s day 2016

On April 22 at 7p.m. – Baskervilles Old British Bar, Michalska 10, Prague 1.

Kingsday2016The King’s Day (aka Koningsdag) is a national holiday in the Kingdom of the Netherlands marking the birthday of the King Willem-Alexander. Majáles is one of the biggest festivals organized in Prague, Brno, and Hradec Kralove. It is a celebration of spring and is dedicated to the students’ life in April. Join the Majáles parade and open-air festival and enjoy yourself to the fullest in the juvenile company. Moreover, take the chance of listening to the best of Czech and Slovak bands.
